Docket No. RP96-389-004Columbia Gulf Transmission Company; Notice of Negotiated Rate Filing

January 5, 1999.

Take notice that on December 28, 1998, Columbia Gulf Transmission Company (Columbia Gulf) tendered for filing the following contract for disclosure of a recently negotiated rate transaction:

ITS-2 Service Agreement No. 61641 Between Columbia Gulf Transmission Company and Entergy Louisiana Inc., dated October 7, 1998.

Amendment to ITS-2 Service Agreement No. 61641 between Columbia Gulf Transmission Company and Entergy Lousiana Inc., dated December 22, 1998.

The service agreement and amendment related to a specific negotiated rate transaction between Columbia Gulf and Entergy Louisiana Inc. Columbia Gulf requests a retroactive effective date of December 1, 1998 for the negotiated rate agreement and amendment.

Columbia Gulf states that copies of the filing have been served on all parties on the official service list created by the Secretary in this proceeding.

Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filedon or before January 12, 1999. Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room. Linwood A. Watson, Jr., Acting Secretary.
