Mississippi River Transmission Corporation; Notice of Proposed Changes in FERC Gas Tariff

July 23, 1998.

Take notice that on July 17, 1998, Mississippi River Transmission Corporation (MRT) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Third Revised Volume No. 1, Fifth Revised Sheet No. 9, to be effective August 16, 1998.

MRT states that the purpose of this filing is to provide for recovery of additional prior period adjustments to MRT's Account No. 191 balance, representing amounts paid by MRT to resolve litigation involving pre-Order No. 636 gas purchase contracts, pursuant to Sections 16.2(b) and (c) of the General Terms and Conditions of MRT's Tariff.

Any person desiring to be heard or to protest this filing should file a motion to intervene or a protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Sections 385.214 and 385.211 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filedas provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceedings. Any person wishing to become a party must file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
