ACTION: Notice.

summary: Notice is hereby given that an award is being to made to the Welfare to Work Partnership of Washington, DC in the amount of $50,000 to partner with DHHS/ACF/OFA on a Welfare to Work Conference. The conference will be held in Chicago, IL, August 2-4, 1999. After the appropriate reviews, it has been determined that this proposal qualifies as a sole source award. The Welfare to Work Partnership is the only organization like it in the country in the Welfare to Work community and this conference is the first of its kind forum. The Welfare to Work Partnership concentrates on energizing the business community to hire and retain welfare recipients and has recruited more than 10,000 business partners located in all States in the country. The conference in Chicago will have in attendance over 1,000 employers. The conference will serve those already involved in welfare reform and welfare to work as well as those who are interested in learning how to become involved. The period of this funding will extend through May 31, 2000.
