Southern Natural Gas Company; Notice of Proposed Changes in FERC Gas Tariff

March 8, 2000.

Take notice that on February 29, 2000, Southern Natural Gas Company (Southern), fileda motion to place into effect on March 1, 2000 the tariff sheets suspended in this proceeding as revised by the substitute sheets included in the filing. Southern also requests the Secretary suspend the due date for filing updated statements and schedules pursuant to sections 154.311(c) and 375.302(j) of the Commission's regulations so Southern may devote its resources to a settlement expected to be filedin early March.

Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with section 385.211 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filedon or before March 15, 2000. Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
