Health Resources and Services Administration; Delegation of Authority

Notice is hereby given that I have delegated to the Administrator, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), all authorities vested in the Secretary of Health and Human Services to make grants for the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program and for Rural Emergency Medical Services under section 1820(g) of the Social Security Act, as amended. This section was added by section 4201 of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 (105-33). This delegation excludes the authority to submit reports to Congress. This delegation shall be exercised under the Department's delegation of authority and policy on regulation.

In addition, I hereby ratify any actions taken by the Administrator or other HRSA officials which involved the exercise of this authority prior to the effective date of this delegation.

This delegation is effective upon date of signature.
