Issuance of an Experimental Use Permit

AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: EPA has granted an experimental use permit (EUP) to the following pesticide applicant. An EUP permits use of a pesticide for experimental or research purposes only in accordance with the limitations in the permit.

      This action is directed to the public in general. Although this action may be of particular interest to those persons who conduct or sponsor research on pesticides, the Agency has not attempted to describe all the specific entities that may be affected by this action.     EPA has issued the following EUP:

    71693-EUP-1. Issuance. Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council, 3721 East Wier Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85040-2933. This EUP allows the use of a total of 90,000 pounds of the antifungal agent containing approximately 0.72 pound of the active ingredient, Aspergillus flavus AF36 on 9,000 acres (3,000 acres/yr.) of pistachio over three years. The goal of the program is to evaluate the reduction of aflatoxin- producing colonies of Aspergillus flavus. The program is authorized only in the State of California. The EUP is effective from May 15, 2007 to May 14, 2010.
