AGENCY: Federal Communications Commission.

ACTION: Proposed rule.

SUMMARY: This document requests comments on a petition for rule making filedon behalf of Copper Valley Radio, requesting the allotment of Channel 290A to Morenci, Arizona, as that community's first local aural transmission service. Coordinates used for this proposal are those of the Morenci city reference at 33-04-42 NL and 109-21-53 WL. Additionally, as Morenci, Arizona, is located within 320 kilometers (199 miles) of U.S.-Mexico border, concurrence of the Mexican government to this proposal is required.

DATES: Comments must be filedon or before April 16, 2001, and reply comments on or before May 1, 2001.

Provisions of the Regulatory Flexibility Act of 1980 do not apply to this proceeding.
