[Docket No. CP97-183-001]

MIGC, Inc.; Notice of Petition To Amend

August 14, 1998.

Take notice that on August 6, 1998, MIGC, Inc. (MIGC), 1100 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20080, filedin Docket No. CP97-183-001 a petition pursuant to Section 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act to amend its certificate issued in Docket No. CP97-183-000, authorizing MIGC to modify the operation of the compressors authorized for installation at the Hilight Processing Plant in Campbell County, Wyoming, all as more fully set forth in the petition on file with the Commission and open to public inspection.

MIGC proposes to operate simultaneously the two compressors authorized in Docket No. CP97-183-000 by order issued May 27, 1997. In that order MIGC was authorized to operate one compressor as the primary compressor and one as the backup, without operating both simultaneously. It is stated that MIGC has determined since that time that increased volumes of coal seam gas flowing into its system require increased compression. Therefore, MIGC requests amended authorization to operate both compressors at half load to provide the additional compression capacity. It is stated that this would ensure continuous compression at the Hilight Plant in the event that one of the two engines were shut down unexpectedly. It is asserted that no construction or modification of facilities will be required to effectuate the proposal. It is further asserted that MIGC' system throughput would not be impacted.

Any person desiring to be heard or to make any protest with reference to said petition to amend should on or before August 24, 1998, file with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, a motion to intervene or a protest in accordance with the requirements of the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.214 or 385.211) and the Regulations under the Natural Gas Act (18 FR 157.10). All protests filedwith the Commission will be considered by it in determining the appropriate action to be taken but will not serve to make the protestants parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party to a proceeding or to participate as a party in any hearing therein must file a motion to intervene in accordance with the Commission's Rules. David P. Boergers, Secretary.
