AGENCY: Technology Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce.

ACTION: Notice: Re-opening of time for requests for nominations for the coordinating committee.

SUMMARY: The Technology Administration invites nominations of individuals for appointment to the Civil Industrial Technology Coordinating Committee established under the Implementing Arrangement Concerning Cooperation in Civil Industrial Technology between the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Peoples' Republic of China's Ministry of Science and Technology. The Technology Administration will consider all nominations received in response to this notice of appointment to the Committee.

DATES: Please submit nominations on or before March 19, 1999.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: On November 12, 1998, the Department of Commerce published a notice in the Federal Register requesting nominations for Committee created under a memorandum of understanding with China. This Federal Register notice was published on November 12, 1998 (63 FR 63294). The notice provides additional information on the goal of the agreement, the scope of the proposed activities, and relevant information on the Committee, including the functions of the members of the bodies and membership criteria and requirements. Nominations were requested on or before January 8, 1999. Because this notice was published shortly before a major U.S. holiday and extended through other holidays, the time for submission of nominations is being extended through March 19, 1999 to allow for further public dissemination and consideration.
