Standards of Performance for Coal Preparation Plants

AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

ACTION: Extension of public comment period.

SUMMARY: EPA is announcing the extension of the public comment period on the proposed reconsideration of the amendments to the new source performance standards for coal preparation plants. EPA originally requested comments on the proposed rule by June 12, 2008. EPA is extending the deadline to July 14, 2008, and is now requesting written comments by that date. EPA received a request for a 30-day extension to the comment period from the Sierra Club and the National Association of

Clean Air Agencies. The reason given for the request for the extension was the need for additional time to gather data and review the proposed amendments. Since the original comment period was 45 days, EPA finds this request reasonable.
