AGENCY: Federal Communications Commission.

ACTION: Proposed rule.

SUMMARY: This document requests comments on a petition for rule making filedon behalf of Madison Broadcasting Company, seeking the allotment of Channel 266A to Madison, Indiana, as that community's second local FM transmission service. Coordinates used for this proposal are 38-49- 15 and 85-18-46.

DATES: Comments must be filedon or before August 24, 1998, and reply comments on or before September 8, 1998.

Provisions of the Regulatory Flexibility Act of 1980 do not apply to this proceeding.
