Agency Information Collection Activities: Submission to OMB for Review; Comment Request

AGENCY: National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

ACTION: Request for comment.

SUMMARY: The NCUA has submitted the following final rule information collection to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and clearance under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Pub. L. 104-13, 44 U.S.C. Chapter 35). This information collection is published to obtain comments from the public. It was published as a proposed rule on March 13, 1997. No comments relating to the information collection were received.

DATES: Comments will be accepted until March 23, 1998.

Title: 12 CFR Parts 701.26(b), 701.27, 740.3(c) and Part 712 Credit Union Service Organization Rule.

Description: This rule updates, clarifies, and streamlines existing rules concerning credit union service organizations (CUSO), a common means of outside provision of services to federal credit union members. The intended effect is to reduce regulatory burden, maintain safety and soundness, and ensure the continuity and growth of services to federal credit unions and their members.

Respondents: All credit unions.

Estimated No. of Respondents/Recordkeepers: 482.

Estimated Burden Hours Per Response: 4.47 hours.

Frequency of Response: Other. Information disclosures required are made on an on-going basis.

Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 1,631.
