AGENCY: Fish and Wildlife Service, Interior.

ACTION: Proposed rule; extension of public comment period and notice of public hearing.

SUMMARY: We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), recently published a proposed listing and proposed designation of critical habitat for the Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa) under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act), and announced a 60-

day public comment period on the proposed actions, ending October 28, 2013. We now extend the public comment period to November 12, 2013, and announce notice of a public hearing on our proposed rules. We are extending the public comment period to allow all interested parties additional time to comment on the proposed rules.

DATES: Written Comments: The comment period for the proposed rules published August 29, 2013 (78 FR 53582 and 78 FR 53538) is extended. We will consider comments received or postmarked on or before November 12, 2013, or at the public hearing. Please note comments submitted electronically using the Federal eRulemaking Portal (see ADDRESSES) must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the closing date. Any comments that we receive after the closing date may not be considered in the final decisions on these actions.

Public Hearing: We will hold one public hearing on Monday, October 21, 2013. The hearing will occur from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will continue from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Public Comments

We are extending the public comment period for 15 days on our proposed listing and proposed designation of critical habitat for the Oregon spotted frog that were published in the Federal Register on August 29, 2013 (78 FR 53582 and 78 FR 53538), to allow all interested parties additional time to comment on the proposed rules. We will accept written comments and information until November 12, 2013, or at the public hearing. We will consider all information and recommendations from all interested parties.

For additional details on specific information we are requesting, please see the Information Requested sections in our proposed listing (78 FR 53582) and proposed critical habitat designation (78 FR 53538) for the Oregon spotted frog that were published in the Federal Register on August 29, 2013.
